NRHA Payments at NEHRA Shows

All NRHA competition license transfers done at an Northeast Reining Horse Show will require a separate check made payable to "NRHA" directly. (At this time NRHA does not provide for credit cards on competition licenses done at shows).

In addition, all NRHA membership fees will also require a separate check made payable to "NRHA" or members may fill out the credit card form provided by NRHA for memberships. These will be mailed directly to NRHA with show paperwork as is standard procedure.

NERHA Cancellation Policy

The NERHA has implemented a Cancellation Policy.  Any stall reserved for a show may be cancelled without charge 48 hours prior to the start of that show.  No shows or those that cancel within the 48 hours will be charged the FULL price of the stall.

NERHA Show Guidelines

At all shows, the first class of the day will close the night before by 7 pm (or sooner if the show schedule dictates) and will be posted as soon as possible after the class is drawn that evening.

Late entries (after the class is posted) for all classes will go last and will pay an additional $10 late fee.

NERHA Class Elgibility

For NRHA class guidelines, click here.

To qualify for year-end awards, both the rider and owner must be NERHA members.

All NRHA approved classes are eligible for NERHA year-end awards. In addition, the NERHA Green Reiner class and Adult Limited NonPro class will be eligible for year-end awards. There will be no year‐end award buckles for Green Horse or Ladies & Gents.

Plaques for non-approved classes will only be awarded for NERHA Green Reiner.  There will be no plaques for Adult Ltd Non-Pro, Green Horse or the Ladies & Gents classes.

Ribbons will only be awarded in NERHA Green Reiner and Youth classes (1st-10th place).  Ribbons will not be given in any other class.

All riders and owners (including business entities) of horses showing shall be current members in good standing to be eligible for year-end awards. If membership dues are paid after January 1, the membership commences when received by the NERHA and is not retroactive.

Beginning with the 2007 show season, Youth Points will no longer count towards Green Reiner eligibility.  This change is retroactive to the 2005 show season.

Warm-Up Pen Etiquette

The following rules are to be used when schooling in the show pen – people not following these rules will be removed from the warm-up session and may risk forfeiture of entry in the horse show. There have been a number of instances where riders and horses have been exposed to danger and risk of injury due to careless or unsafe actions in the warm up arena. Be sure to always ride in a safe and courteous manner while sharing the warm up arena with other competitors.

  1. Riders should circle in the same direction at each end of the pen. (Follow the circles as laid out in all NRHA patterns, except pattern 3) Top ½ of the pen, circle to the right. Bottom ½ of the pen, circle to the left.

  2. DO NOT stop in the center, especially if other riders are circling behind you.

  3. Riders warming up by walking or trotting should stay to the rail.

  4. When spinning, go to the center of one of the circles; do not spin in the middle.

  5. When fencing your horse, remember riders loping circles have the right of way.

  6. When riders are fencing, courtesy dictates that riders loping circles maintain their speed and patterns, as the riders fencing will be timing their fencing in tune with your circles.

  7. If two riders are circling and approach each other from the opposite directions, STOP and go the same way as outlined above, to avoid accidents.
